The Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) at Fort Huachuca, AZ, has developed a program to conduct standards conformance testing of secure digital facsimiles, secure digital facsimile PCMCIA cards, and facsimile controllers. This testing determines their level of compliance to the Type I requirements of MIL-STD-188-161 and NATO STANAG 5000. Testing is also being conducted at JITC to certify interoperability of each secure digital facsimile device with other vendors' secure facsimile equipment while operating through various combinations of STU-IIIs and other security equipment.
